The Taxidermy Association of Ireland national championships return September 30th – October 2nd at Lynham’s Hotel, Co. Wicklow. We have three outstanding guest speaker and judges lined up:
Ken Walker
Three-times world champion taxidermist, who will be delivering a two hour seminar on the anatomically correct way to mount a canine. This seminar will guide you through the complexities of facial expressions, general anatomy, hair patterns, right down to the detail of getting the anatomy of the foot correct!
Wesley Kevenaar
Winner of the best in show at the European Taxidermy championships, and a master of mammals with over 20 years experience, Wesley has a keen eye for creating true-to-life pieces.
Rick Way
Working at the Netherlands based MuseumWinkel, Rick is an award winning taxidermist that specializes in small to medium birds, twice awarded with the title of Dutch Taxidermy Champion for his outstanding work.
Pieces will be open for public viewing, at a charge of 5€ per person.
As with previous championships, any pieces entered must be created for the championship i.e it has not been entered to any other championship or contest for judging, and images must not be posted to social media prior to the event or the piece will be disqualified. Any commercial forms used must be altered to be unique for the competition piece. We look forward to seeing what our members come up with!
